Male, 20, Skinny, is Anyone’s for room and board

Male, 20, some sense of humour,
Skinny, loves listening to music
Alone, seeks companionship
On whatever level, a friendly face

Male, hairy, 20, vegetarian,
Bored, seeks room to spread
Wings with a modicum
Of effort and financial clout

Male, emotionally stunted, 20,
Seeks the One True Love Who Will
Open his eyes, male/female/other,
Is willing to do chores to a degree

20 hairy males couldn’t ever leave
As much hair about the place
As I do, but I clean the tidemark
Off the bath and mean well, 5′11″

Male, 20, skinny, compassionate,
Anarcho-syndicalist on a good day,
Pretty eyes, nice smile, sexually adept,
Alone, front and back

Male, skinny, skin translucent, 20,
Blistered lip, rotting teeth,
Seeks pretty wheelchair user
To share DLA and have jokes laughed at

Male, smoker, drinker, drunk, coughing,
20, seeks mother-substitute with
Pretty toes, for greasy fucking, long term
Relationship, and maybe more…

Male, 20, skinny with rococo tastes,
Seeks well-fleshed girl, 13-14,
For sentimental romance
With picnics

Male, 20, undernourished, smokes/
Drinks, admires pretty ladies, seeks
Above-average sized cock to suck,
Test the notion of hard hot flesh scientifically

Male, 20, skinny, between Newcastle
And where you live that’s fresh and new,
Is anyone-slightly-pretty’s for
Room and board

Male, 20, befuddled, moist-eyed,
Seeks marriage for love, and
A home in the country, tending goats and
Hens and a field with a gate that swings.

Fantastic

This is not bad, like. The last bit makes me want to go Home, Jack.

Yeah it reminds me of being on holiday when I was little which is the same thing as Home, I think.

I dislike this somewhat.

The classified ad as a poetic form? Nice conceit.

I like how the stanzas mirror the relentless sameness of an actual classifieds page too.
There are some good jokes based around the medium’s usual lack of honesty, but I think more could be done to make it progress towards something, a meaning or a definitive change, rather than simply reeling off more examples.

I think there’s progress. So, yes, I agree with the sentiment. Last stanza’s pay-off, no?
